A little over 65 years ago, a small group of families with a common heritage envisioned a church in this area that aligned itself with the Evangelical Free Church of America. On April 15, 1951, in River Edge, the first meeting was held in the American Legion Hall. They incorporated later that year in Cresskill with a membership of 34.
They purchased the present property in 1952 and dedicated a building in April, 1954. The present sanctuary was completed in 1961, and the gym/educational wing came in 1968 with a congregation that grew to over 300 people The gym has always been a favorite for Vacation Bible School, children and youth activities and educational classes for Bible study and English as a second language.
Presently, the building is being shared with a Korean Church as well as being used by sport and educational outreaches into our community.
